Lamson Adventures

Gove Peninsula, Nhulunbuy Australia

Located approximately 1550 kilometers North of Alice Springs is a small mining town called Gove or Nhulunbuy.  The beaches are lovely and white. The water is the bluest I have seen since Greece.  And the people of Gove, a small town of 3000, we the most pleasant that I have found in Australia.  A wonderful spectrum of people, we met a Blackfoot Indian named Neil that became our tour guide, a fireman named Ian, and so many folks over at the Arnhem Club, I can't name them all.  What a trip. I can not believe more folks do not talk about this small town.

Not having a lot of time in the town, they shuffled us all around like we were long lost family.  Fishing on the coast, site seeing and meeting many of the local Aboriginals and dancing at the local footy club until the sun was coming up.  I loved how gracious the town was to us.  From the staff of the Walkabout Hotel to the folks over at the small diner everyone seemed to be at for breakfast, this place was enchanting.
